In the harbour town of Port Scar, a transaction was taking place between Skeletor, the Evil Lord of Destruction, and Garlos, a brutal trader whose sole aim was to turn a profit. Standing nearby was Mer-Man, who watched the exchange with curious eyes. "Hurry, Skeletor!" insisted Mer-Man. "The king's patrols will be here soon!" Skeletor handed seven gold coins to Garlos in exchange for a leather bag containing an unseen object. "Patience, Mer-Man!" Skeletor commanded. "Just keep your eyes open for trouble!" Mer-Man gripped his sword firmly as he waited for Skeletor to conclude his meeting. Fortunately the purchase was soon finished, and the two evil warriors hurried away.
