INTRODUCTION

Resurrection is the second MOTU trilogy to appear on the Vaults website. It continues many of the themes introduced in my Grayskull novel and short stories, all of which can be found on the site. All of the tales are part of my Grayskull Saga, and I suggest reading the stories in the correct reading order. Click here to learn more about the complete set of tales. You can download a PDF version of the tales so you do not need to stay online to read them.

I have always been a fan and supporter of the very early minicomic tales which were supplied with the original toys in the 1980s. The tales were based in a wild swords and sorcery world, and Resurrection uses many of the concepts which first appeared in those old stories. This area of MOTU fan fiction is known as Mineternia. The name reflects the influence of the minicomics and was devised by Mel Dyer. The Filmation cartoon, which introduced the Prince Adam character, came later. The Mineternia period is therefore also known as the Pre-Filmation Era.

When I wrote Grayskull, I did not plan to write a sequel trilogy. However, I did leave some themes unresolved deliberately. Since then, I have had the opportunity to study the Mineternia minicomics further, which gave me some new ideas for Resurrection. The 2008 MOTUC figures also motivated me to think about writing another set of stories. I hope you enjoy Resurrection.
